Well thankyou very much to my brother Joe, I have recently discovered a band…profound! yes, the bad happens to be the books

They seem to follow a style of interesting dynamic ranges, spoken words and melodic lyrics. and wow! do they do it well? hell yeah.

Anyway, words cannot to explain, but you must must must go and listen.

Oh and in other news, Underworld have a new album and it is AMAZING! larry drums on it too:)

hmm…I feel a great urge to update you with what I’ve been listening to lately.

The national - very beautiful alt. rock with a bit of blues that’s almost in there.

The cat empire (new album) - quite differnet…very cool though

Angie Hart - I discovered this chick a couple of months ago and was blown away. From New Zealand, she gives a very sarah blasko sound.
Kate Miller-Hiedke - oh great! folk pop rock alt. whatever else she wants. maybe electronic. quite cool.

Calibrou - I need to get into it more. Very gripping. he’s a genius

The Lucksmiths - oh yeah, gotta love some raw aussie rock

The beautiful girls - these guys are creeping into my song writing more and more…is this a good thing? we’ll see

The Books - Again, very gripping but I need to hear more. much more.

ANGUS AND JULIA STONE - AMAZING! I SAW THEM LIVE AND THEY KICKED ICE!!!!

I was just listening to Violator. When I’m producing music (mainly in a set of more than 1 song), and I find a cool sound, I over use it about 1000 too many times. Listening to Depeche Mode is a great example of a production well done. There are so many cool sounds that if I found, I’d over use like 1000 times but it just comes, it’s subtle and it comes once. It sound so damn cool! Oh where do these sounds come from??? Very well done album and lots of cool sounds. That beat in Halo. OH! BABY!
